Competition news

Midweek Stableford

Last week’s Midweek Stableford was won by Kev Blaber with 34 points. In second place was Alan Rice with 32 points and in third place was A Stewart with 31 points.

The South West Foursomes

The Finals of The South West Foursomes takes place this Sunday 2nd December with the finals being played first and the plate taking place afterwards. Please check our website for start sheet. If you are unable to make it for any reason, please email sarah@yelvertongolf.co.uk.

A great success...

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported our Black Friday sale last weekend. Despite the weather, we had a busy weekend and I’m pleased to say our first winter in the shop is going really well so far.

Yesterday, we had our Titleist fitting day. The weather was awful, so fittings were carried out in the Academy. These fitting days are a great way to have clubs specifically fitted to your swing.

Watch out for more of these days cropping up at Yelverton Golf Club before the start of the next golfing season.

Battling the elements...

Last Sunday, our juniors battled the elements and made their way out onto the short course to hopefully progress onto the next stage of their game.

I’m pleased to say many of our juniors managed this.

I hope everyone is having a good week. We are nearly in December (woohoo) and the means two things, mince pies and mulled wine for a month! I’m hoping the property my parents are buying will complete and we can move them down from Exmouth by Christmas, but it’s looking like it will all happen over the festive period. Why does this always happen? Every move my family have made always seems to happen at Christmas, as if it’s not stressful enough!

Not much golf for me this week, I made a promise to try and go to the driving range at least two times a week over winter but not had the chance yet. Must do better!

Style for all occasions

In the past, golf clothing has had the reputation of being “for the golf course” with a call to the fashion police needed if you were to wear it anywhere else. Thankfully, times have changed, and we now have a vast selection of fashionable pieces in-store that you’ll be able to confidently wear both on and off the golf course.

Divide and conquer

Sometimes in golf, it's the little things which really grind your gears. Take golf bags, for example - the game can be difficult enough when you're not playing your best, but it becomes downright frustrating when you go to take one club out of the bag and the whole set decides to come out with it. It goes both ways, with sometimes just trying to slot a single club back in proving difficult and time-consuming.
