Welcome to another edition to Yelverton Golf Club's weekly newsletter. We hope that you're having a good week both on and off the golf course. Enjoy the read.

New Club V1 We are all very excited about the new Club V1 (How Did I Do) which will be installed week commencing 18th February. This is a much more up to date computer system which will allow the club to stay in contact with you, our members and which will run on a single operating system so every department in the golf club is running as one. |

New equipment Garry our Course Manager has been doing some wheeling and dealing. We had a load of rusty old machinery which he has managed to swap for a pedestrian bush whacker, which will help the green keepers clear untidy parts of the course. Well done Garry! |
Men’s lockers Please note there is a notice on every locker asking for the member to identify whose locker it is by Thursday 28th February. If you could write your name on this notice and leave it in place, the office will collect the sheet and update your membership record. If you are unlikely to visit the Club before Thursday 28th February, please email sarah@yelvertongolf.co.uk stating your name and locker number.

Very important! This Saturdays famous Grouse Foursomes is a shotgun start at 8am for the majority of the field, but in order to fit more groups into the field, there will be some teeing off at 7.55am on the holes that are doubled up! Please check the start sheet for your hole and time allocation. The entry is £12 per person which includes a breakfast after play is completed. This is a Foursomes competition (alternate shots), 50% of the combined handicaps, Stableford, White Tees. Cards from the Pro Shop, it will be the players responsibility to fill out the names and handicap as there are several players wanting to switch around pairs within the four before play commences.

Your last chance! Don’t miss out on the last chance to take advantage of the Titleist Pro V1 offer! We only have a few boxes remaining on this deal, and when they’re gone, they’re gone! £76 for two dozen of either V1 or V1x! |
A happy chappy Gary Hulbert is looking happy and I don’t blame him. His lovely wife Jane bought him an early birthday present – this fabulous Mizuno Golf Carry bag. We did not stock this bag but Gary let us know what he wanted and we ordered it in so please bear that in mind. If you see something elsewhere, we can usually order it in within a few days.

If you know a child that is looking to get into golf, why not bring them along this weekend. Call myself or Lauren in the Pro Shop for more details.

Adam's news No golf to report of so far this season! I have been using some of my holiday during January finalising my parents move and preparing the house for Laurens parents move down. My parents are now residents of Yelverton Village in a much smaller property than they were before, and it has been my duty to do multiple tip runs with 35 years worth of hoarding! I will be trying to dust off my clubs at some point this month when my back recovers from being a full-time removal man! |
Lauren's corner What a beautiful day it is! I’m really looking forward to heading out onto the course today with Jane Hulbert and Gina Mason. I haven’t actually played at Yelverton for over a month, so let’s hope I’m not too rusty.

New Rules for 2019…this weeks featured rules for you! Did you see Rickie Fowler in last week’s PGA Tour final round? Did you know what the ruling was? We are now well into 2019, but there still seems to be uncertainly over a number of rules.

New shoes? Walk this way... |
Golf is first and foremost a walking sport, with many of us strolling more than five miles in a pair of shoes every single round. You might read that fact and instantly recall getting off the 18th green wanting nothing more than a sit-down, feet aching, after realising your shoes aren’t as comfortable as they ought to be. Well, if that is the case, it might well be time for a change... |
Just arrived - Under Armour Spieth 3 This is the third generation of the Spieth shoe, which - as you can probably guess - has been designed on the back of feedback from superstar Jordan Spieth. It continues with a huge focus on traction and power, with its Rotational Resistance outsole helping you to grip the ground on every shot. In addition to this and its lightweight flexibility, the Spieth 3 also has a Gore-Tex membrane for complete waterproof protection - essential for golf in the UK! |
