Electrified fences You will notice new fence posts protecting the greens, please respect the investment and do not step on the ropes. Under the Local Rules - Electrified fences surrounding the Greens are Immovable Obstructions. Rule 16.1b applies. If a ball strikes the fence of the Green being played, the stroke MAY be replayed. Penalty for removal of such a fence post: Match Play - loss hole; Stroke play - 2 strokes. Please be aware that there is no relief when it is clearly unreasonable to play the ball as it lies because of something other than an electrified fence, e.g. a gorse bush. Note: Post and rope are used as a barrier to direct traffic towards pathways, limiting damage to in-play areas from Trolley and Buggy usage. These are Movable Obstructions and can be moved to play a shot and must be replaced afterwards - Rule 15.2a(1) applies. If a ball strikes one of these posts or the rope, the ball must be played as it lies.’
