Midweek Stableford
On Tuesday our Midweek Stableford went ahead but understandably there was not a huge field. Our Secretary, Colin Nolan scooped top spot with 29 points. In 2nd place was Lee Lawson with 28 points and in 3rd place was Cody Petherick with 26 points. |
Men's Winter Stableford
This coming Saturday we have The Men’s Winter Stableford. We do still have a number of slots available for this (I think the rugby final may have something to do with this) so if you wish to play, sign into your ClubV1 app and get signed up.

Mizuno fitting day
Thank you to everyone who turned out for the Mizuno fitting day on Wednesday, Everyone seemed to enjoy the day and felt the amazing ‘layers of feel’ Mizuno offer.
The rep showed me the new copper layer that has been introduced to the new MP20 range to increase the great feel these irons offer. |

Practice Area / Short Course
We have now added a new flag system on the practice area to indicate it being closed for all practice, this includes pitching and chipping on the practice ground!
|
When the 3 red flags are in place, spread over both teeing areas, this means the short course is in use and therefore the practice area is completely closed!! This won’t be too disruptive to the membership as the majority of the time it will only be used on a Sunday afternoon, events will be listed on the v1 system over the coming week. On the odd occasion we may utilise the short course for the junior coaching or beginner coaching on a Saturday morning but no more than once a month and away from Competition weekends. During these times the short game area will still be open for everyone to use!

This week’s Junior Coaching winners were Harry Faull in group 1, Reggie James in group 2 and Max Gardener in group 3 all winning a bag of chocolate eyeballs…yuck! |
Harry Faull wins the Summer Eclectic
Congratulations to Harry Faull who won The Summer Eclectic which finished this weekend.
Harry won by a considerable margin of 8 shots, scooping him the prize which will be handed out on Presentation evening.

Adam's corner So Matt duffed me up last week in the Alliance! He had a great score of 38 points in the pro Individual to my 36 points. I knew I was in for a tough day when I kept looking back on the front 9 and Matt was peppering the pins! He turned in -5 which is very impressive and I don’t mind losing to golf of that standard. But as the great Arnold Schwarzenegger says “I’ll be back!” there’s life in the old dog yet and plenty more to play!
Matt and I were due to play at Bovey Castle today in The Devon Pros 4BBB but unfortunately it was cancelled due to the bad weather, I look forward to playing at Churston Golf Club next week with The PGA Alliance.

Lauren’s corner Happy Halloween everyone!
We’ve had a great week getting the shop all spooky for Halloween.
Our niece, Holly, popped in for a few days and helped carve the pumpkins. I think you will agree they look pretty frightening!

A lovely lady in our village of Hatt is making crochet poppies for dogs to wear on their collars for remembrance Sunday, not only to remember the human loss of life but also the animals who lost their lives.
All proceeds go to The Royal British Legion.
Here is our Bobby and Bella looking gorgeous with their poppies on! |

Matt’s corner Really pleased with my game last week when I played in the PGA Alliance here at Yelverton. I finished in 3rd place in the individual pro competition with a score of 2 under par.
It was a little disappointing after going out in 5 under but overall a good effort considering I hadn’t played much golf as I had been away on holiday the week before. Kevin Blaber and I managed to come 3rd in the team event but annoyingly ‘The Boss’ Adam and Sean Carter beat us on countback. |

In 2018, only January saw more rainfall in the UK than November. Not the happiest of stats to highlight, but one that shows the inevitability of being caught in a few downpours this month, making a waterproof and spacious bag vital if you want to tackle the unpredictable British weather. |
| Titleist Players 4 Plus StaDry Stand Bag | The name of this lightweight bag says all you need to know when it comes to its waterproof ability. Add in seam-sealed zippers to protect your personal belongings and six spacious pockets, and we think you'll be hard-pressed finding a better option.
|
| Titleist StaDry Cart Bag | Its big brother equivalent has the same waterproof fabric but in a more spacious cart option. We know plenty of you enjoy using an electric trolley out on the course, and we think this might well be the perfect bag to go with it. |
